Iran strengthens collaboration with Braga at various levelsPage

Correio do Minho

Iran's ambassador in Lisbon highlighted the similarities in terms of knowledge, culture and education between Braga and the Iranian city of Yazd. Diplomat visited InvestBraga and UMinho.

Bringing the cities of Braga and Yazd (in Iran) together in the most diverse areas was one of the reasons for the visit that Iran's ambassador to Portugal, Morteza Damanpak Jami, made yesterday to the capital of Minho.

The diplomat pointed out that the two cities are characterized by investments in the areas of “agricultural, industrial products, by universities, by technology companies. I see that the two cities have many things in common. They are cities of knowledge, culture and education”.

The ambassador challenged potential Iranian investors and to invest in Braga and said that companies from Braga and Portugal can enjoy good conditions to invest in Iran. “I encourage Portuguese and Braga investors to consider Iran as a good business destination. We can provide the information they need about our market ”, said the ambassador.

The President of the city council of Braga, Ricardo Rio, highlighted the collaboration “at the level of entrepreneurship, of creating resource shares, of projects that can help companies to penetrate their respective markets. In the future, there are tourism, cooperation, student and researcher dimensions that can be strengthened. ”

The President of the city council of Braga also stressed that "we are strongly committed to building a lasting relationship with several countries and economic agents, in order to put Braga on the radar of international investment".

It is recalled that at the University of Minho there are two dozen Iranian students, who can help with business connections between the two countries.

In addition to the Braga City Council, the Iranian ambassador to Portugal also visited InvestBraga, Start-up Braga, the Rectory of the University of Minho and the company Bysteel.

The visit was promoted by InvestBraga and its main objective was to promote the contact of the diplomatic corps with the reality of Braga as a strategic vector for promoting the City and its assets.

The ambassador was accompanied by the first secretary and adviser at the Iranian Embassy in Lisbon.
