Rigor. (from the lat. rigore) n. 1. harshness; strength; 2.fig., severity; punctuality; accuracy.

There is no "more or less levelled", "more or less upright”, "more or less clean" or "more or less safe", but rather “levelled”, "upright”, "clean” and “safe". The rigour is reflected in our procedures, in time and in the rules to follow. In the light of moral and principles, being severe means being rigorous.

Under the sign of passion – a text of the Portuguese poet Regina Guimarães – is our icon. Passion is to reveal great enthusiasm for something, favourable encouragement or opposite to something.
It is the sensibility transmitted by an architect or engineer through work.
Passion is the dedication to a project. Passion is a state of warm soul.

Solidarity. (from the lat. solidare) n. 1. the quality of being solidary; 2. reciprocal responsibility among the members of a group, namely social, professional, etc.; 3. sense of sharing another’s suffering.

Being solidary is being a friend, offering our hand with genuine generosity and bringing joy and human warmth to those who, somehow, are marginalized. Being solidary is being more human. A solidary company is recognized as a fair and non-selfish company. A solidary company is a preferred choice in business. It is a more competitive company. Volunteering is a vehicle to solidarity. It is modern, fair, cultured, friend, it is a noble gesture of moral elevation.

Courage. (from the lat. coraticum) n. 1. bravery facing danger; intrepidity; to have audacity; 2. moral force before a suffering or setback; 3. [fig.] to input energy when performing a difficult task; perseverance...

It is a value that we must highlight as opposed to the fearful, cowardly and laziness.
The courage to react to criticism not with an attitude of demotivation or sadness, but rather to search for the means and the action to overcome its own reason. This kind of courage, which is also an intellectual courage, is highly recommended.

Responsibility. (from the lat respondere) n. the trait of being answerable to someone for something or being responsible for one's conduct; a form of trustworthiness.

We must be certain that, before a choice, we chose what is best for both of us and not just the best for each one. Each employee is responsible for his negotiated activity and co-responsible if the co-worker does not fulfil his own task, thus preventing the common goal. A team is a set of individuals - is a whole. In the business game, as in social or family contexts, everyone must comply with their own relative position and we shall not permit that one of ours fails to be in our team.

“The construction industry is experiencing a paradox”

Opinion | Construir

The social impact that the 4th Industrial Revolution has been causing is no longer unnoticed. The speed and ease with which the transmission of information is carried out today, ensures greater proximity between people, goods and services, which, until then, was a conditioning factor for the development of conceptual and industrial processes. In turn, the construction sector has not been absorbing the advantages of current technological innovation and is thirsty for a change that will accompany other sectors.

The BIM (Building Information Modelling) methodology appears as a first iteration of the entry of the construction sector in the era of digitalization. Its implementation allows communication and the sharing of integrated information between the members of the organization during the life cycle of a construction, supported by a digital, parametric model, which constitutes a database and serves as a reference to the most diverse types of advanced operations.

The dstgroup defined the scope of income resulting from the application of the BIM methodology at various levels. We all recognize that the greatest weight concerning the cost of work falls on its execution, this makes it essential to increase the time spent in the preparation of the work, guaranteeing a planning that is intended to be infallible, a controlled and previously studied budget, and an allocation of materials to the work that, in addition to being synchronized, presents low waste rates. The maximum shortening of the construction period thus becomes the main objective of this extension of preparation time, which is inherent to a change in the current modus operandi, since this is not enough to guarantee, in an efficient manner, industry requirements. Another point lies in the fact that, in the near future, as in other European countries, profound changes in the sector's legislation occurred, a recent indication of Portuguese standards in the area of BIM being a strong indication of this change.

In this way, another company is born in the dstgroup, bim+, with the objective of embracing this new reality and working closely with customers, providing them with a project and work management supported by the Virtual Design Concept (VDC).

The possibility of creating digital models that characterize reality, allow giving the client another guarantee of the success of his project. Regarding customer support, bim+ can provide the necessary compatibility, planning and quantities of the various specialities of the project. In turn, support for the reengineering process that is sustained in the areas of extraction of quantities, ensuring precision and standardization, compatibility by detecting errors and omissions, in the execution of simulations transversal to the method of execution of the work and the search for solutions optimized in the most diverse specialities, it will allow the reduction of the probability of error, thus reducing the risk for both parties. In this way, bim+ intends to assist customers in the choices they intend to implement for their spaces and buildings, implementing architectural and engineering projects endowed with quality in terms of compatibility between specialities, to provide a strong feeling of confidence during the execution of the work.

In the Maintenance area, it intends to be a national reference in terms of maintenance services for public and private buildings The control of a digital model, possessing all the information related to all the components that constitute a building or space, makes it possible to execute forecasts that will help to find optimized solutions to control maintenance costs, both for the company but, mainly, for your customers.

Bim+ is currently carrying out BIM services in various types of works, both nationally and internationally, in hotel buildings, industrial and commercial units, housing and public hydraulic and railway infrastructures.

From his experience, he points out that the integration of BIM in the works enabled an increase in trust between the parties: client-contractor; contractor-subcontractors. In the first case, it can be seen that the monitoring of the works in BIM allows agility in what concerns the process of compatibility of projects and approval of solutions for execution on site. In the second case, it can be seen that the teams that carry out the work, being able to previously analyse the work that they will have to carry out, drastically reduce the risk of adjusting works already carried out. But the scope of the BIM methodology goes far beyond what was exposed here. As it is not only a method that allows cost savings and speeds up construction processes, it must be seen as a holistic approach, when thinking about another imminent innovation, smart cities. The BIM data models will be a powerful ally in helping to solve environmental and housing problems, inefficient installations and increasing the quality of life of the inhabitants of these cities.

The reality of digital information is unavoidable, so its use will be vital to guarantee its differentiation in society and the economy.

BIM+ to respond to a new reality

Bim+ is the company that was born to embrace the new reality of Building Information Modelling, providing its customers with modelling services, project management and coordination, construction monitoring, point cloud execution, integrated solutions and maintenance services in buildings, environmental infrastructure and industry. It is based on the Virtual Design Concept (VDC) environment, which enables the communication and the sharing of integrated information during the life cycle of a construction, relying on a digital model, parametric, which constitutes a database and serves as a reference to the most diverse types of advanced operations. The digitization of the construction and the building, since it is not only a method that allows obtaining cost savings and streamline the construction processes, should be seen as a holistic approach, when it refers to another imminent innovation: the smart cities.
