A team is a set of individuals - is a whole. In the business game, as in social or family contexts, everyone must comply with their own relative position and we shall not permit that one of ours fails to be in our team.

After 5.5-million-euro renovation works, the 1.15-kilometer Braga city center tunnel, now called Via da Liberdade (Freedom Way), was inaugurated this Saturday morning by the mayor, Ricardo Rio, and reopened to traffic in the early afternoon.
The tunnel has two entrances, one linking Avenida Central to Avenida da Liberdade and the other from Avenida António Macedo (Circular Norte), which connects to the Bragaparques car park in the basement of the so-called Campo da Vinha in the heart of the city center.
After walking through the tunnel, accompanied by the project constructor, José Teixeira, from the company dst, councilors, mayors and technicians, Ricardo Rio emphasized that the tunnel is now safer for those who walk through it, as it is equipped with various safety systems and warning sensors in the event of an accident, fire or any other mishap, such as flooding.
The fans are activated immediately even when there is an excess of smoke without fire, as could be seen when a simulation of an alert was conducted during the visit.
The flooring and lighting have been renovated, the walls embellished – there is even a tile panel with motifs alluding to the city: “it is a smart tunnel,” the mayor emphasized.
Ricardo Rio also stated that the work was two months behind schedule, which – he emphasized – was due to the need to “put the entire safety system into operation,” with tests involving connecting the installation to the Medium Voltage Network and testing the electrical installation, Tests and Training for the Detection of Fire and Detection of Gas, as well as Training relating to the Safety Generator and on the IT systems installed (video surveillance).
These also included Tests and Training on Street Lighting, Lighting Technical Tests and Integrated Testing and Simulations involving Ventilation, Fire and Gas Detection.
Ricardo Rio thanked the people of Braga for their sacrifice during the work – which complicated the flow of traffic in the center of the city – and stressed that this flow will now improve, despite not putting an end to the constraints: “there are a lot of cars circulating in Braga, which makes it difficult to prevent traffic flow problems,” he stressed.
Inaugurated in 1997 – at the time under the management of the socialist Mesquita Machado – and extended in 2009, the infrastructure “had never undergone any major intervention.”
