A team is a set of individuals - is a whole. In the business game, as in social or family contexts, everyone must comply with their own relative position and we shall not permit that one of ours fails to be in our team.

With the signature of architect Souto Moura, the group’s latest industrial unit, glazing brand Lyrical Design Windows, is launched, creating 52 jobs and aiming for a turnover of 30 million euros by 2030.
DST, with a workforce of almost 3,800 and an estimated turnover of over 700 million euros at the end of 2024, has once again placed its trust in Portugal, creating new jobs. It has invested 18 million euros in a new manufacturing facility, designed by architect Souto Moura, which will be home to its new minimalist glazing brand, Lyrical Design Windows. The majority of its output will be bound for export. Drawing on the expertise of Bysteel FS, a DST group company, the investment in Lyrical included 15 million euros spent on a new manufacturing facility. “This sum corresponds to the first phase and includes the construction of the new factory and the purchase of cutting-edge manufacturing equipment, as well as product R&D”, explained André Gonçalves Pereira. “It also covers the purchase of administrative and technological equipment, to a value of three million euros, bringing the overall spend to around 18 million”, stated Rodrigo Araújo, CEO of Bysteel and Bysteel FS, who is considered by DST leader José Teixeira to be, “the main player in the group’s international expansion”. Located at the DST campus in Braga, Lyrical “launches with 52 workers, a figure it expects to increase to 75 by the end of the year and double by 2030”, according to the CEO of Bysteel, a DST group company specialising in the design, engineering, manufacturing and assembly of metallic structures and facades, which closed 2024 with 497 employees and a turnover of around 70 million euros, 27 million up on the previous year, with foreign markets accounting for “over 90%” of the total. Measuring approximately 10 thousand square metres, the Lyrical factory “is designed and laid out efficiently to optimise manufacturing flows and minimise wastage and inefficiency throughout the production chain, from reception of raw materials to delivery of finished products”, explains Gonçalves Pereira, adding that, “the planned manufacturing capacity of this new production plant is around 50 thousand square metres per year”.

The Lyrical factory will launch with a workforce of 52, set to increase to 75 by the end of the year and double by 2030.
“Our target in terms of turnover is to achieve 30 million euros per year by 2030.” ANDRÉ GONÇALVES PEREIRA Managing Director of Lyrical.
A window on the world
“Lyrical was born as a natural consequence of the Bysteel’s expansion”, explains Gonçalves Pereira. “Throughout its existence, Bysteel has always recognised that though it is a leader in the metallic structure and facade industry, the high-end designer glazing sector had untapped potential, particularly in terms of minimalist solutions”. This is why one of the two launch products identified by Lyrical in the action plan drawn up under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP), “was designed to fill this gap”. “The main competitive advantage of Lyrical windows is their excellent thermal performance, the best on the European market”, promised André Gonçalves Pereira, managing director of the Braga-based group’s new brand, in a statement for Negócios. “Their innovative design and aesthetics and potential for customisation, personalisation and modularity also set them apart”, added the director, who chose BAU, the leading biennial trade fair in the architecture, building materials and systems sector, for the global launch of this new minimalist glazing brand. Lyrical, which aims to “redefine the concept of a window”, has always had its sights set on the export market. “We aim to achieve an annual turnover of 30 million euros by 2030, driven by expansion into new markets, in particular the United States and Middle East, through strategic partnerships that will strengthen our global presence”, stated Gonçalves Pereira”.
