New editions of Higher Professional Technical Courses (CTeSP) developed in partnership with the Polytechnic University of Cávado and Ave (UPCA) for the 2026/2027 academic year. The training offer created between academia and the group's companies ensures specialised labour.
dstgroup is once again strengthening its investment in education and technical qualification by promoting new editions of Higher Professional Technical Courses (CTeSP) developed in partnership with the Polytechnic University of Cávado and Ave (UPCA) for the 2026/2027 academic year.
The initiative, which already has several editions in different areas, represents a model of collaboration between academia and industry, designed to respond to real labour-market needs and prepare highly qualified professionals for strategic sectors of the economy, such as construction, energy and telecommunications.
The second application phase runs from 14 to 18 September and is aimed at young people who have completed secondary education, professionals undergoing career changes and dstgroup employees who wish to update or deepen their skills.
Lasting two years, with three semesters of theoretical and practical classes followed by one semester of curricular placement in a business environment, the CTeSP programmes stand out for their strong practical component and focus on market needs.
The training offer for the 2026/2027 academic year includes seven courses developed in partnership with different companies from the Braga-based group: Construction Site Preparation and Management (6th edition); Advanced Network and Telecommunications Management (5th edition), with DS Telecom; Advanced Welding (8th edition) and Preparation and Manufacture of Modular Structures (4th edition), with Bysteel; Renewable Energy and Sustainable Systems (5th edition), with dstsolar; and Refrigeration and Thermo-Energy Efficiency (1st edition) and Energy, Telecommunications and Home Automation (2nd edition), in partnership with Dte.
'Probably the measure in education with the greatest impact on people, families, companies and everyone's competitiveness. These Higher Professional Technical Courses are, in reality, the new generation of workforce training with the greatest economic and social impact since the first measures to democratise education after 25 April 1974. The dignity of work comes through knowledge, practical wisdom and theory. These programmes reconcile this hybrid way of learning. May our ministry encourage, through support, this type of singular yet plural education,' stresses José Teixeira, chairman of the dstgroup Board of Directors.
'The UPCA CTeSP programmes associated with dstgroup companies represent a strategic commitment to employability, the value of the territory and the construction of innovative educational pathways capable of responding to the challenges of digital transition, sustainability and economic competitiveness. Through this partnership, UPCA strengthens its role as a reference institution in higher education oriented towards regional development and the creation of concrete opportunities for its students,' stresses the Rector of the Polytechnic University of Cávado and Ave, Alexandra Malheiro.
The partnership between UPCA and dstgroup translates into the joint development of programme content and course curricula, the participation of company specialists as guest lecturers, technical sessions with suppliers, continuous training for group employees and the creation of privileged internship opportunities for students.
'This dynamic is further strengthened by collaboration with the dst Industrial School and the implementation of the Industrial and Digital Thinking Campus, an innovative project developed in partnership between UPCA, dstgroup and Escola Profissional Amar Terra Verde, which aims to create an advanced training ecosystem focused on industry, digital transition, sustainability and the development of young talent. Through this cooperation network, students benefit from highly employable training, close to companies and the challenges of the future,' highlights Filipe Chaves, director of the Higher Technical Professional School.
With high employability rates, CTeSP programmes have helped meet the growing need for qualified labour in areas critical to the development of the Portuguese economy. Many students enter the labour market directly, while others, already employed, use these courses as an opportunity for career progression and skills updating.
