The dst group will begin next Friday, January 6, another training initiative, continuing a long-established professional development policy that aims to meet the practical needs of all its employees. This first module, with a total of 25 hours and running until February 18, is dedicated to the topic of Oral Communication and has, as instructor, António Fonseca, an actor and director involved in various theater projects who has also worked in cinema and television. In addition, he is a very experienced instructor, notably having collaborated in recent years with the Theater and Education Course of Escola Superior de Educação de Coimbra (Coimbra Higher Education School).
Enhancing the effectiveness of communication, using voice and words, is one of the main objectives of this training, leading to increased and better personal and subjective expression. By improving the oral communication of the participants, new dynamics of expression are created, either through the vocal apparatus, the production of sound and its relation with the process of relaxation and breathing, body centeredness, verbal articulation, listening ability or the subjectivity of content in orality. Each session will last two and a half hours, employing a primarily practical methodology.
On February 21, another workshop will begin on Oral Expression - The Body as a fundamental element of communication, which will be conducted by Rui Madeira, and will run until March 28. Rui Madeira is an actor, director and artistic director of the Braga Theater Company, having lectured in the Arts Course of Universidade Católica de Braga (Catholic University of Braga), in addition to several roles as actor and director in theatre, film and television. In this module, the body will be explored as a fundamental element of communication, with practical and technical exercises, based on realistic observation. In this way, the employees of the dst group in training can, at any moment, assess their status and measure the results they are achieving. The technical areas to be addressed include the body as a fundamental element of communication, breathing, eye-contact, articulation, diction, spoken expression and interpretation.
For José Teixeira, chairman of the dst group's Board of Directors, "the commitment to professional development is imperative for the evolution of the business, allowing our employees to acquire skills essential to the good performance of their functions," stressing that "it is increasingly important, in a globalized and constantly changing market, that the communicational aptitudes of each are stimulated and developed. "
2028 hours of training in 2016
The professional development of human resources has been a growing concern in the dst group, which in 2016 alone provided more than two thousand hours of training, involving 300 employees in 84 certified initiatives. This promotion of lifelong learning fosters, in addition to the acquisition of technical knowledge and skills, relationship skills and a sense of belonging to the organization, resulting in the nurturing of self-confidence and a sense of security. All the training initiatives identified and carried out are adapted to the practical needs of the workers, considering the company's Training Plan, developed annually from the evaluation of needs of each department or company, in coordination with its directors and management.
