Rigor. (from the lat. rigore) n. 1. harshness; strength; 2.fig., severity; punctuality; accuracy.

There is no "more or less levelled", "more or less upright”, "more or less clean" or "more or less safe", but rather “levelled”, "upright”, "clean” and “safe". The rigour is reflected in our procedures, in time and in the rules to follow. In the light of moral and principles, being severe means being rigorous.

Under the sign of passion – a text of the Portuguese poet Regina Guimarães – is our icon. Passion is to reveal great enthusiasm for something, favourable encouragement or opposite to something.
It is the sensibility transmitted by an architect or engineer through work.
Passion is the dedication to a project. Passion is a state of warm soul.

A solidary company is recognized as a fair and non-selfish company. A solidary company is a preferred choice in business. It is a more competitive company. Volunteering is a vehicle to solidarity. It is modern, fair, cultured, friend, it is a noble gesture of moral elevation.

It is a value that we must highlight as opposed to the fearful, cowardly and laziness.
The courage to react to criticism not with an attitude of demotivation or sadness, but rather to search for the means and the action to overcome its own reason. This kind of courage, which is also an intellectual courage, is highly recommended.

Responsibility. (from the lat respondere) n. the trait of being answerable to someone for something or being responsible for one's conduct; a form of trustworthiness.

We must be certain that, before a choice, we chose what is best for both of us and not just the best for each one. Each employee is responsible for his negotiated activity and co-responsible if the co-worker does not fulfil his own task, thus preventing the common goal. A team is a set of individuals - is a whole. In the business game, as in social or family contexts, everyone must comply with their own relative position and we shall not permit that one of ours fails to be in our team.

Sanne de Wilde and Tito Mouraz win the photography award Emergentes dst 2013

The International Photography Award – Emergentes dst 2013 was awarded ex-aequo to the Belgian Sanne de Wilde and to the Portuguese Tito Mouraz, an unprecedented decision justified by the brilliance of their respective portfolios presented at the competition.

The award ceremony was held today in Braga, at Theatro Circo, where the jury members also recognized the works of the Japanese David Favrod and of the Spanish photographer Alvaro Laíz.

This fourth edition received 400 applications, most of them from other countries, reinforcing the idea that this event is one of the most important awards in Portugal in the field of photography.

The maturity of this initiative from the dst group in the cultural field can also be observed by the growing international recognition that the event has been achieving, being one of the most innovative initiatives in the field of Visual Arts.

The Belgian Sanne de Wilde, one of the prize winners, was born in 1987 and graduated in Fine Arts at KASK, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent.

She applied to the competition with The Dwarf Empire work, a magic land existing in the Chinese province of Yunnan, close to the beautiful Dianchi Lake, where the dwarves live.

This is the land of Dwarves in the World Ecological Garden of Butterfly, in which its inhabitants are talented and brave. They have their own king and their own capital. As a western and blonde woman, the author moved her attention to eccentric details that suddenly have become her own world.

The other Prize winner is the Portuguese Tito Mouraz. Born in Canas de Senhorim, in 1977, he graduated in Visual Arts and Photography at Oporto Superior School of Arts, the city where he currently lives and works.

He exhibits regularly since 2009, with particular attention to individual exhibitions at Módulo - Centro Difusor de Arte.

His work is also present in the BES Art collection.

Tito Mouraz focuses on photographing the transformed landscape of Portugal, adding notes of deep affection with the people of this land, assigning those images with formal and plastic art content.

In this way, he shows by means of photos what he considers to be difficult to transpose to the film. The personal experience of everything he feels, being driven by an inner motivation full of strong emotions.

The prize, in the amount of 7500 euros, was held at Theatro Circo, in Braga, which gala evening was brighten up by the musician Patrick Wolf, who dazzled the audience with the fusion of electronic sounds and the traditional instruments. Wolf’s styles range from Baroque Chamber music to Electronic Pop.

In a night of thrills, Patrick Wolf has proved to be an extraordinary musician, conquering the audience and thus contributing to the overwhelming of this year’s edition of Emergentes dst Award.

The International Photography AwardEmergentes dst is an initiative from the dst group, with a prize of € 7 500, which aims to reward the best Contemporary Photography Portfolio of 2013.

This initiative has achieved a place of honour in the field of Visual Arts, not only for its innovation and creativity, but also for its association with Encontros da Imagem, which is one of the most important events, in the field of photography, with signs of international recognition.

The jury members composed of Anna-Kaisa Rastenberger (Chief Curator at the Finish Museum of Photography in Helsinki), Louise Clements (Artistic Director of the Quad and FORMAT Festival Derby) and Tina Schelhorn (Director of the Gallery Lichtblick, Cologne) wanted to highlight those “new” authors who, having a notable portfolio in contemporary photography, deserve this boost to strengthen their work.
