new in Braga
The ceremony took place at the dstgroup campus in Palmeira, where the group holds one wedding each year with all expenses paid.
For the third consecutive year, the wedding bill was paid by the company. dstgroup once again organised and paid for the ceremony of two of its employees, held at the group's campus in Palmeira, Braga. The event was revealed this Monday, 7 September, through a video posted on social media.
The initiative began taking shape at the 2023 Christmas party, when management announced a new benefit: every year, the company would hold a wedding on the premises and pay all the expenses. The first ceremony took place on 15 June 2024 and brought together more than one hundred guests. The experience was repeated in 2025 and has now reached its third edition.
At the time of the first wedding, the company explained that it wanted to turn employees' personal wishes into experiences that would remain with them throughout their lives. 'Doing good feels good, and doing good has an absolutely incredible return,' the group wrote in the post announcing the initiative.
This time, the group did not publicly disclose how much it spent, who the couple were or what criteria were used for the selection. It only confirmed that it holds one wedding per year at the Braga campus and covers all expenses.
The wedding is one of more than 70 internal benefits offered by dstgroup, covering areas such as health, education, culture, sport, leisure and family support. Benefits include life and health insurance, psychology, dental and physiotherapy appointments, a hairdresser open during working hours, painting and fitness classes, holiday camps for employees' children and a free laundry service.
The list also includes two libraries, sports facilities, tickets to Theatro Circo, parties with entertainment and free meals, and a breastfeeding room. Among the various benefits, the wedding stands out for its scale and unusual nature. The third couple has now become part of a tradition the company intends to repeat every year.
The history of dstgroup began in Braga in the 1940s, under Domingos da Silva Teixeira. The business started with the extraction of aggregates and the supply of materials for projects such as the 1.º de Maio Stadium. Today, the group is chaired by José Teixeira, the founder's son, is based on a campus in Palmeira, and brings together companies linked to engineering and construction, the environment, telecommunications, renewable energy, real estate and investment in new businesses. Over the past decades, it has also developed projects in culture, training and employee wellbeing.
