A team is a set of individuals - is a whole. In the business game, as in social or family contexts, everyone must comply with their own relative position and we shall not permit that one of ours fails to be in our team.

On Friday, the University of the Algarve signed a contract for the construction of two new university halls of residence with a total of 287 beds, representing a 15.8-million-euro investment.
The UAlg currently has 558 beds and with the construction of the two new halls of residence, “it will increase its available capacity by 51%”, to 845 beds, according to a press release issued to the news agency Lusa.
The construction of the new halls of residence, funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), will create a total of 287 new bed spaces, 162 on the Gambelas campus and 125 on the Penha campus, both in the Faro district.
The residence at Gambelas, in the parish of Montenegro, with a budget of almost 8.9 million euros, has a built area of 1,781 m2, split over three floors.
The 162 beds planned for this hall of residence are split between 80 private rooms, 38 twin rooms, five accessible rooms and a one-bedroom apartment.
Penha II hall of residence in Faro city has a budget of 6.8 million euros and will consist of five floors with a total built area of 3,977 m2.
The 125 new beds will be split between 71 private rooms, 24 twins, five accessible rooms and a one-bedroom apartment.
“Both buildings will be located on university campuses at Gambelas and Penha, providing a living space at the heart of academic life, by creating a safe, comfortable and human environment, promoting environmentally sustainable behaviours”, stressed the UAlg.
With the construction of the new halls of residence, the aim is to “offer its residents high-quality short-term accommodation, ensure comfortable living conditions and quality of life, promote neighbourliness, camaraderie and community spirit, and balance community life with respect for the individuality and privacy of all”, explains the Algarve based institution.
UAlg Vice-Chancellor, Paulo Águas, quoted in the press release, stresses that accommodation continues to be “one of the greatest priorities” for the university and that the construction of the two new halls of residence, “will make a significant contribution to removing barriers to education to students moving away from home”.
On the subject of renovating existing halls of residence, Paulo Águas promised that UAlg “is the best in the country”, having renovated 427 beds in six halls of residence.
The contract for the two new halls was drawn up under the National Plan for Further Education Accommodation (PNAES), using Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) funding.
The director of the National Erasmus+ Education and Training Agency, Ana Cristina Perdigão, responsible for managing PNAES funds, was present at the signature of the contract.
Quoted in the press release, she praised “the speed and manner” in which the UAlg took advantage of this funding, calling the Algarve-based university, “an example on the national level for its capacity for vision and the work it has carried out”.
The architectural plans for the new halls were produced by architect Rui Gago, of Inovarx, Lda., while the company Domingos da Silva Teixeira S.A. will be responsible for their construction.
